Fan Noise and Thermal Management – Dade Series

Updated 19 October 2025
  • Category: Repairs
  • Applies to: Dade X, Pro, II, IIi

GeiG notebooks use intelligent thermal profiles that balance fan speed, CPU/GPU power, and surface temperature. Here’s what’s normal and what’s not.

Normal Behaviour:

  • Fans spin up during high CPU loads (video calls, compiles, gaming)
  • Turbo mode increases fan curve aggressively
  • Quiet mode reduces RPM, may allow CPU to throttle

Adjusting Fan Profile:

  1. Open GeiG Control Panel
  2. Select Profile: Balanced, Quiet, Turbo
  3. Set fan trigger temperature (Advanced tab)

Abnormal Signs:

  • Loud rattling or ticking = fan damage
  • Constant max fan with no load = firmware bug
  • No fan spin under load = thermal risk
