GeiG notebooks use intelligent thermal profiles that balance fan speed, CPU/GPU power, and surface temperature. Here’s what’s normal and what’s not.
Normal Behaviour:
- Fans spin up during high CPU loads (video calls, compiles, gaming)
- Turbo mode increases fan curve aggressively
- Quiet mode reduces RPM, may allow CPU to throttle
Adjusting Fan Profile:
- Open GeiG Control Panel
- Select Profile: Balanced, Quiet, Turbo
- Set fan trigger temperature (Advanced tab)
Abnormal Signs:
- Loud rattling or ticking = fan damage
- Constant max fan with no load = firmware bug
- No fan spin under load = thermal risk
