How to Use Safe Mode – GeiG Notebooks

Safe Mode is a diagnostic boot mode that loads only essential drivers. Use it to troubleshoot display, boot, or driver issues.

Entering Safe Mode:

  1. Hold Shift while selecting Restart
  2. Choose: Troubleshoot → Advanced Options → Startup Settings
  3. Press 4 or F4 to boot into Safe Mode

Use Cases:

  • Uninstall malfunctioning drivers
  • Roll back Windows updates
  • Remove conflicting startup programs
  • Run virus/malware scans in isolation

Pro Tip: Use msconfig to configure permanent Safe Boot mode if repeated diagnostics are needed.
